Thornbury residents will have an opportunity to find out more about the work of their local firefighters at the fire station’s open day.
Tips on fire safety and tours of the station and its life-saving equipment will also be on offer.
During the day there will be all kinds of family fun, along with the chance to meet fire investigation dogs Kilo and Cracker, watch fire safety demonstrations and book free Home Fire Safety Visits.
Thornbury Station Manager Barrie Houghton said: “We are really looking forward to this open day and to welcoming members of the local community through the doors.
There will be plenty for everyone to see and the day will give local people the chance to meet their local firefighters.
“Avon Fire & Rescue Service prides itself on the work it carries out in the local community and this open day is another opportunity for us to meet members of the public and talk to them about fire safety.”
Avon Fire & Rescue Service's new hovercraft will also be on display, along with demonstrations highlighting the dangers of using chip pans and how firefighters work at a road traffic collisions.
