Event

Thursday 11th September 2008
Roxy Magic
7:30pm, The Redgrave Theatre, 2 Percival Road, Clifton, Bristol BS8 3LE

Rockhampton-based Roxy Magic, who have a strong Thornbury following, are the ultimate tribute band to Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music. Their repertoire spans four decades of music magic creating a highly professional show, great musicianship, fabulous entertainment and a look-a-like/sound-a-like Bryan Ferry who will make you do a double take during a memorable evening you won't forget.

Kevin Hackett is the smooth, suave and sophisticated Bryan Ferry. John Ozoroff proficiently plays guitar, Bob Hackett is on bass, Paul Woolley is in charge of keyboards, Lee Sullivan is an inspiration on Sax and Simon Atkins keeps the beat going on drums.

Roxy Magic formed in 2004 and recreate an entirely live show that includes futurist/nostalgic art rock, classic standards, sophisticated adult-oriented rock and bitter-sweet pop-soul. They perform songs recorded by Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music, so you will hear classics such as Love Is The Drug, Jealous Guy, Virginia Plain, Let's Stick Together, Avalon and Dance Away alongside album favourites, such as Re-make/Re-model, If There Is Something, Out Of The Blue and Ladytron.

The band have established themselves as the leading tribute to Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music, with an ever growing fan base and receiving very impressive feedback indeed:
"A perfect evening of entertainment with real musicians and if you closed your eyes you could be easily convinced it was the real thing". - Bristol Rocks.
"The persona and voice inflections of front man Kevin Hackett were so completely Ferry-esque as to border on the mesmeric." - Plinstonlive.
"Remake Remodel and Ladytron took The Palace back 35 years - but didn't really seem a day older on delivery." - Birmingham Evening Mail.
"You guys are fantastic! I just finished watching your videos and I am amazed. I hope you tour Southern California so I can experience your Magic". Ron from California, USA.
"It would be nice if the band could remind me how some of the songs go!" - Bryan Ferry
"It took a long time for there to be a Roxy tribute band; there is one now and it's very good." - Andy Mackay

Roxy Magic have toured throughout the UK and summer dates include performances at the Tribfest in East Yorkshire, The Matthew Street Festival, Liverpool, The Limelight Club in Crew and their first theatre performance at The Redgrave Theatre, Bristol on 11th September.

This is a show they are looking forward to because it is their home city. They intend to shine brightly on that stage and become the stars of the night that everyone will be talking about. So book your tickets now!
