Thornbury Run4Fun or Walk4Fun
11am, Mundy Playing Fields

Here's your chance to run or walk off those surplus pounds acquired over Christmas. This annual family event is organised by Thornbury Rotary Club in conjunction with the town’s Running Club. Proceeds this year are in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

You can run or walk a four mile course around Thornbury and adults and children (minimum age 13 years) of all abilities are invited to take part. Entry forms are available by clicking below. Entry fees for the Fun Run are £7 adults (£5 affiliated clubs) and £3 children: for the Fun Walk adults £3, children (under 16) £2 and families £8.

Alveston Avengers Netball
Calling all ladies! Want to have some fun, get fit or keep fit? We are a group of local mums who get together once a week for a game of non competitive netball. Our emphasis is on fun whilst trying to tone up! No experience, skill or equipment needed! None of us have played since school so no need to feel intimidated or embarrassed.
We play every Sunday evening (including school holidays) on a pay as you play basis. *Please bring a bottle of water for refreshment!
We play at Alveston Youth Centre or Thornbury Leisure Centre (call for venue info). First four weeks free then a nominal £2 thereafter. Call Hayley on 07500 431720 or Sas on 07916 164624 for further information/venue.

Kestrel Gymnastics Club
Kestrel specialises in acrobatics and tumbling. We coach beginners and experienced gymnasts, both boys and girls from 4yrs to 64yrs! Kestrel holds classes at Thornbury Leisure Centre on a Friday evening at 5pm and 6pm during term time. Olveston United Football Club

Olveston United was formed in 1926. With excellent facilities on and off the field, the Club has great potential and our aim is for the 1st XI to achieve County League status.
The club comprises two teams:
• 1st team - Bristol Premiere Combination league Division 1
• Reserves - Bristol and District League
The blue and yellow Club colours are the colours of the Gloucestershire Hussars, the regimental colours of Col. C.E. Turner, the first Club President.

Thornbury Air Cadets
2392 (Thornbury) Squadron of the Air Training Corps is the home of flying in Thornbury. We are open to boys and girls aged between 13 and 17, and offer training and experience in gliding, flying, shooting and a whole host of other indoor and outdoor activities.

Thornbury Falcons Junior Football Club
We formed in the summer of 1990, initially with just an Under 9s team. Now we cater for Under 6s to Under 16s, with over 350 families involved in the Club.
Thornbury Falcons is run by a Committee elected at the AGM. It meets in the Chantry Community Centre at 8pm on every first Thursday in the month. All parents and players are welcome to attend.

Thornbury Ladies' Hockey Club
Thornbury Hockey Club is a friendly and sociable club with members of all ages and standards. The club has three teams in leagues that play on Saturdays throughout the winter season from September to April. Training is held regularly on a Wednesday evening at The Castle School, Thornbury from 7-8.30pm. The first half an hour focuses on 'light' fitness and the second hour on skills training. We always welcome new members.

Thornbury Lawn Tennis Club
The club is set in an attractive, rural spot at the far end of the Mundy Playing Fields. The grounds are spacious, with a clubhouse, and 4 all-weather courts, all of which are floodlit and newly repainted. We also have regular use of 4 public courts which are adjacent to our club.
Parking is available close by in the general Mundy Playing Fields car park. Access to this car park is via Kington Lane, off Castle Street.

Thornbury Running Club
We have 150 active members with ages ranging from 17-70. Our main Club Night is 7pm on a Thursday, meeting at the Sports Centre behind Castle School. We have various groups that go different speeds and distances and we also promote other activities as a Club, including swimming, cycling and drinking (water of course!) - for Triathlons, etc.

Thornbury Sea Cadets
Thornbury Sea Cadets offers young people training and experience in a wide range of activities, with an emphasis on "messing about in boats". Senior cadets (12-18) meet on Monday and Thursday evenings, and Juniors (10-12) on Wednesdays. Thornbury Skate
We are a small, friendly group of adult skaters that meet every Tuesday at 7pm for an hour of skating indoors at Thornbury Leisure Centre. Thornbury Skate is not run for profit - each skater pays £2/3 to cover the cost of hiring the hall. We are not skate instructors but have a range of abilities and ages and can offer advice to get you going. If you just want to skate then great! - that's what we do too!

We are an "Open to All" club, with meetings at Castle School Sports Hall, Thornbury, Mondays 6-9pm and Wednesdays 7-9.30pm.
