Concert for Ecuador
7.30pm, United Reformed Church, Thornbury

Some of the best young performers in the area are staging a concert to raise money to send one their friends to Ecuador to do voluntary work.
Libby Pengelly, 18, of Thornbury will be travelling to Cuenca in Ecuador in February with the Lattitude Global Volunteering organisation to spend 6 months teaching young children English and music in Primary Schools and community centres.
She has been fund raising for the trip for the past year and has had support from many local individuals and groups including Northavon Youth Theatre, Thornbury Rotary Club, Thornbury Cricket Club and Aviza Technology in Newport.
Said Libby: "Growing up in Thornbury, I've had opportunities to perform with so many groups such as Northavon Youth Theatre Company, TMTG, Bristol Ballet School, McLennan School of Irish Dance and Turnberrie Castle Morris; and I thought it would be fun to get together with all the friends I've made over the years and put on a concert to show off some of the huge amount of talent in the Thornbury area. It should be a great evening with lots of music, dancing and comedy sketches and I really hope MyThornbury readers and other local residents will find lots to entertain them."
Tickets will be available at the door for £5. All are welcome! For more information, contact Libby on 01454 885698 or click below:
