Christmas is a special time in Thornbury: churches and local organisations arrange festive events for us to enjoy, shops are filled with goodies to eat and gifts to buy, restaurants and cafes stand by to revive us with delicious food and drink, and of course the wonderful architecture is festooned with Christmas lights.
This year, Thornbury's Chamber of Commerce aims to attract more visitors to Thornbury to enjoy all the town has to offer, with a new Christmas leaflet.
The leaflet has been designed by Damon Mahoney of Station Design, whom you may remember as the artist behind the highly successful Thornbury jute shopping bag.
It has been created with the generous support of South Gloucestershire Council and Thornbury traders, who are using it to advertise their products and services.
Over 50,000 leaflets are being distributed to towns and villages around Thornbury.
Thanks to the further generosity of Magnox North, the leaflet has been recreated in a dedicated section here on MyThornbury.

We'd love to hear what you think of the leaflet - either the paper version or the online version, and we'll feed your comments back to Thornbury Chamber of Commerce.

Throughout the Christmas season, the lights in St Mary's shopping centre and along Thornbury High Street create a festive atmosphere, and you can click here to find out more about the switch-on events.
Santa will once again be helping Thornbury's Round Table raise money for charity on his sleigh tours of Thornbury and Alveston. See the events calendar or the Round Table website for details of when and where to spot him.
As the Chamber leaflet demonstrates, Thornbury is a great place to do your Christmas shopping. See our shopping page for ideas to treat your friends and family.
Check out the events calendar for everything from street fairs through craft events to musical and theatrical performances, and use our Churches page to plan your carol concerts and Christmas services.
You'll find details of all Christmas events on the right hand half of this page, dotted around the site in sensible places, and of course in the events calendar.
We'll keep this updated as time goes on, so keep checking back for more details and if know of an event that isn't listed, please tell us about it.
